Mountain
boy named bri
With a new day comes new hope for tomorrow,
It may be unfounded but it’s all that we’ve got.
So don’t hide your eyes. No one’s watching out for us.
We’re on our own, and we’re all that we’ve got.
In your shadow I am groping to find purpose.
What can I use to fill a whole so large?
A high wire act without a net, I jerk and stumble,
As I mime the confidence I held so tightly, when I was just a child.
If you can hear me
I’m waiting for the mountains to be moved,
I want to see it with my eyes.
Before this can be real to me..
It needs to be real to my mind.
The missionary soldier on the corner
Wants to give me papers that will tell me who you are
What kind of weakness would it take for one to sway that way?
Ignoring a lifetime of thoughts, just join in and play along
