The piano track is a mangled version of the already-mangled piano from the previous song (“The Saucers Arrive”).
The plan was to try to improvise in a way that was somehow rhythmically compatible with the skittering piano track. The guitar track here was really just going to be a first run-through to try to get a feel for what I was going to do on the “real” take, but it seemed to work in an atmospheric rather than a rhythmic way, so I left it at that.
