@GeneEricMann Thanks for your kind words, in particular with regards to my vocals. I know I'm not a gifted singer, but what I lack in skill, I try to make up for in sincerity.
@justinotterguy: Thanks! I think it turned out pretty well. I suggest you check out Low's version, which inspired my version: http://youtu.be/Qy_bQq2sAoA
I don't resonate with the lyrics as much right now, but I anticipated this shift when I called it "the blues" instead of its actual title "street of dreams." So that title change may be why you haven't heard the original.
Oh ...and thanks for your kind words of encouragement, Ken!
You are neither scourge nor savior. You are a point on the continuum. What you eat, you are. You are food. And how sacred is that? Little sister to Second Nature.

doesn’t she make you…
They say "you are what you eat." I find this to be true because as soon as I bought some ready-to-eat apricots, I was ready to eat apricots. My favourite thing about these ready-to-eat apricots is that they were in a resealable bag, because sometimes you aren't ready-to-eat apricots enough. Maybe next time you'll buy some ready-to-eat apricots.
Took me a "long long time" to discover this song, but I'm so glad I was finally able to thanks to the amazing third episode of "The Last of Us." Thank you for the kind words, Colleen!
I'm so happy to learn that you plan to take a look at the originals, c}{imps! I'm just here trying to honor my favorite songs and it's a true compliment if I can do well enough to make someone want to hear the "real" version. (-:
I had a lot of fun listening to this one. The subtle use of sitar and the chugging rhythm guitar are two cool things (of many) that jump out at me. Nice work, Steve! :)
10 years ago (April 3rd, 2008) I joined alonetone. Here is a rerecorded version of the first song I ever posted to alonetone. The song is "Girl is On My Mind" by The Black Keys

Dude this is beautiful. I could see thing on my phone! :D

I particularly appreciate the vocals in this one -- strong and well-delivered.
Great lyrics, nice progression of chords, cool electric guitar -- subtle but effective.
I really liked this song! Thanks for sharing. Great lyrics!
Good strumming technique. Nice vocals. Good delivery. Keep it real!
Nice guitar like it

Good job, and a good choice to cover.
@TheRoseSerumSextet: Thank you for the kind words. Not many are brave enough to listen to my more improvisational stuff, so I do appreciate it!
@nazarevox: Thank you for listening and the encouraging feedback, Marcelo!
Love that lick!
You got something going on. Rough. Good.
that´s what i´m talking about...
Like this one Tom!
Thanks Ken! I was inspired by Madi Diaz's version. So if you like this version you might check out her version because it's pretty rad.
Sounds good Tom, better than the original I would say... I like what you did with it.

I haven't heard the original, but nice work Tom.
Cool acoustic version!

I like all four of your songs! The layered vocals on this one are particularly cool. :)
A nice "pick me up" in these uncertain times! The bongos and other percussive sounds are nicely juxtaposed with the simulated jet sounds. Cool stuff!
Thanks for the encouraging words, Tess! Authenticity is definitely what I'm going for with these songs.
@SisterSavage: As always, thank you for listening and thank you for your kind words, Tess!
Inspiring!

Thanks, Steve! It was fun trying to make the two guitars work and I'm glad the enjoyment extended beyond just me.
@theproods I'm very glad to hear that you're out there supporting some of the artists who inspired me so much!
Love this one; it’s great seeing you back on alonetone! :)
Glad you enjoyed it, Steve! I had some fun with this one. ;)
...you pretty much just described my life @fudetusk
Thanks @fudgetusk! By the way, that gum you like is going to come back in style.
@fudgetusk: Thanks for the kind words!
@fudgetusk Thanks for the kind feedback; I've really enjoyed my ten years here and I'm hoping for at least ten more!
Thanks, Steve! Atmosphere and emotion are definitely what I'm going for here!
