she’s got a confident way of talking
knows where she’s going when she walks
her fashion sense is never shocking
but it says “she’s a boss”
it says “she’s on top”
there is no question she can’t answer
whether it’s secular or trife
she memorizes names and numbers
she reads between lines
she sees all the signs
everybody trusts Angela
and nobody’s quite sure why
but we trust her with our lives
there are no pictures of her family
her desk is always clutter free
no postcards from friends on vacation
only a clock and herbal tea
her bedsheets are Egyptian cotton
you can be sure the thread count’s high
and when she goes to bed at midnight
there’s nobody on e the other side
everybody trusts Angela
and nobody’s quite sure why
but we trust her with our lives
sunny days or cloudy skies
we’re glad that Angela is in our lives
