Chances
from Live at KXCI Tucson, AZ studio session:
When I was in the 7th grade, I used to skip school on Wednesday mornings so that I could watch the Nat King Cole show on PBS. I was mesmerized by his music. I could feel his vocal influence as I wrote “Chances”.
It's charming to think of a seventh grader choosing to skip school to watch a Nat King Cole PBS program. Beautiful vocalizing of an attractively unusual rhythm.
I love the slowness of this song, and the voice and its phrasing are captivating.
Wonderful!
You have got an amazing voice!!!
Makes me want to wrap up on a huge sofa with the lights down and a gin and tonic!
elegantly raw guitar/vocal performance, I like your chords, slow deliberate playing, use of space between lyrics to keep the listener waiting... I hate songs that cram a bazillion words and lines into a song :)
