Written, recorded, and mixed in 24 hours. August 01-02, 2009, from 6am to 6am.
Instrumentation: Two acoustic guitars, electric guitar (picked and bowed), fretless bass, about 7 different flutes, two tabla drums, rattles, tambourine, didgeridoo…
Okay I need to say a few things. Please read before listening!
I did not do the 24 hour challenge but I did try and hang around in the chatroom as much as possible with Glu, SisterS, and ChrisM while they battled through it.
At about midnight…
OK- I'll admit I didn't listen to the whole thing, but I did hear about 6 minutes of it and it's interesting stuff! If I knew a tithe of what you do about manipulating sounds in software I'd be a league ahead of where I am!!

Yelyah, thank you for the encouraging words.
You're right that I have a pretty unsophisticated approach to what a "song" is. It's a facet I've begun to notice in everything I have done so far, that it is structurally uninteresting.
Guess I need to figure out how to take the next step!
Thanks again.

I listened to the full 24. :)
I dig what you've done here and would definitely call this music and not noise. I would like to see you create some separate sections. Like, a breakdown for instance, where you go for something totally different rhythmically before returning to the original idea.
Keep on experimenting! :)
Going through the various things I had kicking around before the RPM Challenge and before I upgraded to Live 8, I found this unfinished Live 7 thing...
Frenetic fun.
Boring technical details:
I honestly can't remember much about it which to…
One of four tracks I did for the August 2009 24 hour challenge. This was the first track I did, when I was still fresh.
I'd wanted to play around with Guitar Rig 3 since getting it at the weekend. The guitars are ableton loops mangled with guitar…
One of four tracks I did for the August 2009 24 hour challenge. I'd just finished the trance track, it was 3am, and I wanted something completely different.

Bethan you're very kind to even attempt to listen to this!
The kick drum that runs through the track is the source of most of the sounds, just mangled, tortured, and beat into shapes & frequencies kick drums were never meant to reach.

New stuff has been slow in coming for me lately, but I found this lurking on my hard drive from a while back. Frankly don't remember how I did it except that it was all live to 2 tracks and at one point one of my synth patches glitched out on…

OOOH- 5 minutes in now and enjoying it. That mood shift right before the 5 minute mark is really cool!

And you got it. Nice track, I like this one the best!
Very cool, very chill.
This is so clever! And you captured the madness of 24 perfectly! I wanna go to bed too.
Cracking stuff, Chris! Just what I need to shake me awake! Very cool! Your whole project is alarmingly shiny! Well done!!!!

Lovin' this one! What a great beat, and just the right amount of atmospheric sound and rhythmic noises. Congrats on your 24h!
fantastic, well worth all the sleep dep!
Full of fun, rhythm and interesting sounds. Trying to work out what some of them are, very cool!
What can I say? This is beautiful and I think I shall listen to the whole thing all over again :)
I'm at 15:00 and it's been great so far.
I'm just 30 seconds in and I can tell I'm in for a treat...
If that was lurking on your hard drive, you better go look and see if there is anything else on there. Great atmosphere...
Nice, nice, like it. I think I need to drop the guitar a bit and get back into some other stuff.
