First Morning Light
Greg Connor
My wife Rita mentioned that she had not heard my dulcimer on any music recently, so I tuned it up and wrote First Morning Light. A little Low D Irish Whistle flavored it just a bit.
Fresh air through the window
Birds sing goodbye to the night
The sky turns shades of color
Presenting the first morning light
.
The stars that were there have now faded
Replaced by a breath taking view
Fragrance of summer just lingers
On the scent of the morning dew
.
It’s been my good fortune to notice
The Sun reappears with delight
The peace that I somehow feel
Observing first morning light
Beautiful. "And the fragrance of the Summer lingers on the scent of the morning dew."
Thanks to Rita for the lovely suggestion. I've never heard you play the dulcimer. These lyrics are so lovely... Beautiful all around
I hope your resume says multi instrumentalist!!!! love the sound I needed a peaceful song right now!!
