This is a piece of happy, dancy synth music. It is kind of old school, so much so in fact that it actually features a genuine vintage analog synthesizer - a Roland JX-8P.

Really dig the hook, reminds me of Soviet, which is a total compliment. I too think some nice pop vocals would really round out this track. >8^D ... keep up the great work

Well done, I really enjoyed the track, makes me wish I still had my JX8P, keep up the good work.
Please keep posting links to your work on Rolandxanalogs, I, for one, would certainly buy an album of your work.
Regards
Garry

In this piece of synthesizer music, I tried to create something a little less like 80's synth pop that my usual stuff. The vocals are my voice, suitably distorted.
This song is sort of like New Wave, but with a more modern feel.
There are no real guitars used in it at all - it's all synths and samplers.
I think this version of the song needs a bit more work, and hopefully I will get around to it one day.

Hi Daz,
Thanks for your comment!
To get the audio into Ableton I simply soloed each track and recorded it through the iPad's headphone output.
I then mixed the audio in Ableton Live in the usual way.
This is my 12 hour song (written, recorded, mixed, mastered) ... I pined away all day at it while a storm kept me company.
instrumentation:
a man lost his house and sold me his fretless bass for next to nothing. a family friend gave me…

Oh yeah! great stuff DanielB. So happy and upbeat in a good way. I needed this. Thanks!
What a great track! Reminiscent of the popular synth music of my teenage years... except much better!
Definitely catchy.
Synthy sweet.
got a great 80's feel
Very cool. The JX-8P is my favorite synth. The song reminds me of the music from the old Nintendo game Ninja Gaiden. That game had the coolest music!

Hooray for the JX8P! Definitely one of my favorite analogs. Nice work.
Vintage synth froth! Love it!
Ooh, liking the synth guitar buzz at around 2.28!
JX sounds great Daniel. Like the drum sound also. Find a young female to sing on it and its charted...
Brings back memories of early Front 242.
The lead guitar sound reminds me of video game lead guitar sounds of the early 90's.
To be truthful, I want this on the home page because I think it has been overlooked and think it's really great.
AND..I don't have an emu..although it's fun to say...god knows how I get some of my sounds..I do ALOT of efx in cool edit pro.
oh yea...have you ever tried modtracker? It it's still around it's free..a bit time consuming...but interesting.
COOL...the bass sounds like a bass from an old dos based program...that was originally written for the amiga..modedit.
I agree with bethan, you should sing more

This has a really good thud to it! Great synth sounds.
Odd indeed. I couldn't help thinking of a kind of happy-clappy Gary Numan electric android whole listening to this. Liked it a lot!
Thanks!
Great Stuff!
