Sandpiper
I set my gear up on Feb 1 with the intention of recording a number that I had “ready to go”. I recorded this instead, which just popped up out of nowhere.
He walks along the beach with me he eats the sea he eats with me
He grabs the little that he can the stuff that missed the garbage can
Like surges forward like a wave the does it like his mind is crazed
He never stops the whole day long he is the subject of this song
Sandpiper…
I wonder what his mind is like a study of his birdy psych
not much could fit inside his head somehow works I’ve heard it said
A thousand others just like him their tails long their legs are thin
I join them on their daily walk I wish they knew a little talk
Sandpiper
I never knew another bird No other type that was preferred
My favorite of the kind that wades into the water they have strayed
The highlight of my beachy time they make their lives into a rhyme
I stand and watch them all day long then I write this silly song
Sandpiper birds
