I'm going to get a chance to perform this one live, someday.

I've struggled with putting this in the can for several years by now. I originally wrote the lyrics (pancake lyrics, at that!) during the 2009 challenge. I'm glad that I've finally put this one 'to bed'. Bad pun intended.

Inspired perhaps a little too obviously by one side of Pink Floyd's 'Animals' album, this track started out as filler and quickly sucked in much of my effort during the month of February. Good thing it turned out to be my 'just about favorite…

composed literally 'on the spot' on one of the last challenge days, it came together a lot better than I expected. Now all it needs is a bridge!

This is a piece written for the Linux Musicians Uncompetition (http://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10331).
The purpose of such un-competition is making some music with Linux tools, and then share it.
The premise for this…

3. This is the "preferred" track from the 2008 challenge, and I think it stands well by itself. It is the narrative climax to the piece. Thanks, Mick!

4. The prog album's musical climax, with full orchestral treatment. I did NOT get the London Symphony to come to the session, alas.

5. The 'Hidden" track, appears after a lengthy pause on the CD version. The little artsy trick that all prog albums must have at the end.

Making my skin crawl away... Oh wait, now it's coming back... This would make a good soundtrack for a thriller!

F7 is a solo project from Alan Hall. He has participated in the RPM challenge for the last two years (2008 & 2009) as F7, and before that as In Visible Light in 2007. IVL was short-lived; F7 remains as a nom-de-catgut for the composer. In the process of searching for a voice, these projects press toward the horizon in radically different vectors.
