It was early in November
I’d been doing some Time Out
Some little thing I was doing
Mad my Mom and Daddy shout
I could see that they were angry
And I knew without a doubt
If I was going to last ‘til Christmas
I’d need to be a good Boy Scout
I knew that they had problems
The least of which was me
But I’m the only problem
They can solve most easily
Just sit me in a corner
And there will be calm and quiet
………………..

Wake me up when it’s Christmas
In the meantime I’ll just sleep
That way I won’t be on their nerves
And The Lord my soul will keep
I’d like to get some toys
And stay out of trouble, deep
So, wake me up when it’s Christmas
And I won’t let out a peep

I’ll keep all my clothes on
So, I won’t have to get dressed
I know that all that washing
Keeps my precious Mommy stressed
And I won’t need any dinner
And my dad will be impressed
And he won’t be so hyper
And, maybe, get a little rest

Wake me up when it’s Christmas
