Bullet

River took a bullet. A bullet in his chest
One went thru his forearm. In his hip one came to rest.
But River didn’t feel it. He was busy at the time
Taking down the gunner. Some say it was a crime.

It’s told that in the struggle, River took the gun away.
He turned it on his enemy and it went “BANG,” they say
I don’t know if that happened. That’s not what he told me
But the bracelet on his wrist says, “John Doe IIII”

So, somewhere in this hospital there must be ONE and TWO
I’m sure you agree that’s logical, now what am I gonna do?

Somewhere near the exit, the bullet in his arm
Must have hit a vessel. It sounded an alarm
And River’s friends were breathless as they wheeled him to the scan
This little game of Cat & Mouse goes on across the land
