SWEET RAIN 32311 - SOMEWHERE
For a short clip of of a video of this:

This song made me a professional songwriter when George Sluizer, the director of THE VANISHING, put it in the movie by that name.
SWEET RAIN Key G
G Bass F# Em
It’s been a long dry spell
C Bass B Am
I haven’t done that well
Em D C
And when you reach a certain level
D
You just get by
I could draw you a map of hell.
Oh the stories I could tell
I watched a daughter of the devil
sit down and cry
C G
For rain, rain, rain, SWEET RAIN
Rain, rain, rain, SWEET RAIN
D
Rain to wash the salt away
C
Rain to melt a cloudy day
G
SWEET RAIN
The sun can ruin the land.
Turn your gardens into sand
Lap all the water from the river
until it runs dry
Oh, the ocean’s seen it all
It’s lived to watch the forests crawl
Follow the clouds across the mountains
Now tell me why?
CHORUS

I remember the song Damn this traffic jam how I hate to be late..from my High School 10th grade year..youre the greatest influence in my travels with just your smooth voice..
Really inspiring as always. Sweet rain indeed!
Lovely to hear your voice for the first time. Poignant. <3
One of your best, Jim. The melody is beautiful, and the lyrics evoke a melancholy feeling of comfort in me. I'm so glad for you that you got some recognition for it in its use in The Vanishing.
beautiful song james !
Another of my favorites.
WOW!!!!! LOVED ALL OF THEM.IMPOSSIBE TO KEEP A DRY EYE! "THAT SAME CONVERSATION" REVISITED.
Honestly, James - I like this version MUCH more than the country-pop version with the female singer. She is a good singer, but that other version did not really touch me like this one does. Your voice (although too loud again ;) :P ) plays an important role in the originality and tenderness of your songs. To me it is the most important part. Regards, Steffen
Beautiful soulful piece.
Beautiful song! Soooo lovely!
Cool tune.
