Children Of The Night
James Michael Taylor
Kathy Holdway and friends sings my song, CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT. It is available on a Cd titled PICKIN’IN THE SHED from Shadetree Recording, Athens, Texas..
CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT Key G (open G tuning GGDGBD)
They’re flying in from miles around - C
They circle and they settle down – Bm
They sit and feel the world go round with you – Am - G
They come to share the night with you
They sit. They stare. That’s what they do
They’ve come to share the light with you
*When the sun begins to shine 5 - 1
They’ll be leaving you behind 3 - 4
Where do they go? Where do they go? 1 - 5
Fuzzy, chocolate, striped, white
Peaches, pickles, humpbacks might
Be leaving you but how they love the light
Angel wings and butterflies
Because the caterpillar dies
That old designer, how he tries for you…*
Red and yellow, black and white
All are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT
Red and yellow, black and white
All are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the Children of the Light…*
Tiny bodies left behind.
You know their mama doesn’t mind
Because it’s spider feeding time
Eight legs, six legs, five or four
One, two, three and sometimes more
Left there in the painted door for you…*
Shoos out the night
All your fuzzy friends take flight
Where do they go? They’re out of sight
They’ll be back when the sun goes down
Just leave a little light around
They will return without a sound for you…*

Ha ha, it's like hearing it for the first time each different track, except that now I can sing along. This is a lovely version.
This is fantastic. James, I would be so flattered to have such a beautiful cover of one of my songs. Great song, great vocals and picking, made me very happy. ^^ - Violet
Love the sound! Sounds very oldetyme and has great Appalachian style harmonies! Good job Kathy & Faith!
Arg! My speakers are not speaking and I'm not sure why. Unable to listen to the new version of CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT. When it is translated to Hindi I'll make another effort to figure out what is wrong with the speakers. Keren
reminds me of a song being played on a turntable in a old hotel during a horror movie scene, in a good way that is. If you can take that as a compliment :)
