This became an anthem for Texas Water at closing time at The White Elephant Saloon For some reason I don’t recall, when Peggy decided to leave me she told me not to sing this song any more. Well, she’s been gone 15 years now and I think it might be time to start singing this song again. I think the folks at The Magnolia Motor Lodge Tuesday night singer/songwriter night might enjoy it.
You sound a bit like Harry Chapin, did you know that? And just to make that clear: I love Harry Chapin! :) Regards, Steffen
One more is a reminder of why we write isn't. Always looking for the next hit..
Oh, and on a lighter note ..... This is great, love it!!
