The moon is a hole in a canopy blue
A hole in the sky where the sun shines thru

The scientist will tell you that I’ve got it all wrong
Stand there and argue with the lyric of a song
When the day is dark and the night is too long
And I’ll gladly admit that I knew it all along
When the sun shines thru

The clouds will make faces staring down at you
But they can’t stop the light when the sun shines thru
The sun shines thru, The sun shines thru.
Down is up and up is down
And there are no city limits to this country town’
And the dogs don’t bark and the cats don’t frown
And trying to get me up will just be getting me down
Until the sun shines thru

What does it matter? Why should I care.
Tie my shoes. Comb my hair.
It’s all pretty silly when you’re not here

The sky is red and the earth is blue
And that will all change when I’m looking at you

And the strong man’s weak and the weak man’s straw
