Another oldie but goodie (again, apologies for the few seconds of silence it takes to get to the intro). This song is the first that I really tried to record properly, written around Christmastime four or five years ago with my seventh grade…
After writing this song about our newly adopted dog, I asked Kavin if he like to play some slide guitar, knowing that he would come up with something terrific... I just had no idea how terrific.

Another song from the archive... Written about a friend who somehow seemed to come out of her general sad manner... Thoughts go back to a lunar eclipse when the girl I was standing next to to watch it (way back in college) disappeared from sight…

After listening to Brian's beautiful guitar piece "Mellow," Brian was kind enough to allow me to sing along...
Never saw you coming
Down my lonely road
I never saw you coming
Can't be sure you'll never go
I know you'll be leaving
But I keep believing…

"You gotta put your pencil to the paper. Don't bother with the intricate chords. Hell it doesn't matter if the damned thing doesn't rhyme. Write it down. Run it through. Make some noise." These were actually the first words I wrote when…
All right, so one of those silly songs needed to find its way onto the album. In an effort to teach the students on my middle school team about rhythm in poetry, I wrote this little bit of foolishness about a fictional character (so yes, you…
Just updating all the songs from "Keeping Constant Motion" with versions that have the vocals a bit more up front... Just had to favorite this one. Of all the songs I've ever written, this one and "Amy Pond" are the most requested... Just goes to show that silliness in songwriting often speaks to people more than seriousness.

DREAMS OF THE OCEAN
Your kids'll be waking up in the morning
Just a couple of hours after mine have gone to bed
I've got the coffee warming
While dreams of the ocean are in your daughters' heads
I taught them all 'bout it late last evening…

A song written for a great girl who'll be getting married next year...
"You'll always be this young if love comes first
And you stay filled with life."
Came up with this Before bed last night.
Had to record it this morning so I wouldn't forget the Sound of it...
Live recording
I'll do a better version when I have more time...
Well.... Off to work for me...
This is…
A song inspired by a picture of a Dancer...
Hope you Guys like it!

Maybe it’s looking alright,
But we know........
Maybe it’s looking alright,
But we know........
We don’t Want War....

In dedication to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 and 7/7 attacks.....

Say it softly but say…
An intrumental Track I put together when Thinking about my family.
One Guitar represents my son, one my wife and one me......
Two Versions with Vox (Jim Higgins and Geir Alfsen) are also in existance.. not sure how to link to this site…
Ah... So good right from the start, but I've come to expect that from Osckilo's acoustic arrangements. Instant fave. Man, I could just listen to you playing acoustic guitar all day. Tomorrow I start the download fest of Osckilo's greatest hits for use on road trips.
Faved at 0:10... Wow. This style of layered guitar arrangement is just incredible! I'd love to know in what order you recorded them... It's so cleanly and perfectly played... I feel like I walked in on a great live gig.
A Song About Trying....
-Lyrics-
Maybe we can find a place where we,
can be truly free my love.
And we’ll find this place alone.
Where our hearts are guided.
The road seems Never ending.
Souls Lost in the dark.
Your light becomes…
I'll stop saying it at some point, but I really am amazed and envious of your understanding of your instrument and your voice. Just timeless music. Incredible.

I’m in this ancient place of peace...
With a Lullaby in me.....
But I cannot seem to sleep....
Just a Pill to help me go to sleep ........
This Lullaby in me..... I cant hear......
The sirens…
Man, so the words just pour out of you as you play, because that's what it sounds like... The words themselves are so perfectly formed to work with the music. I am truly envious of this marriage of vocal/instrument arrangement.
A song about Rising to new challenges...
Even though you Might not want to really....

Me on the rest...

Excellent arrangement... You have a great musical ear! Having messed around with Garageband for hours to get quality arrangements, I can appreciate the effort involved in producing such a full sound... and those searing vocals... Wow.
When I wrote this song.... It was about staying true to your Ideals...
In fact... It is about a person that put me in a very difficult situation....
One that effected my life for a while... Just for doing the right thing...
I think…
Played and Sung at the same Time.....
Recorded On One Track....
Words made up on the spot....
Was in Two Minds as to if I should Post it....
I aint Preaching in this.....
It is Just something which makes me, "me" that I want to…
Cant sleep....
Thought I'd write a Tune....
Had to be fairly Quiet on this, so as not to wake the Baby...
Hope you Like it.

Oh wow, this is good right from the start. I had already faved this one a while back. Just a great love song from the amazing perspective of recall. INCREDIBLE guitarwork. What is your music background, Tharek? This is as good as it gets.
Had to do this one on the fly before an open mic night....
Sorry about the quality...
Came up with the song this morning ......

Beautiful opening picking, Tharek! What a genuine voice... Talk about honest music. Wow. I have a feeling that your music will soon begin to influence mine in some pretty profound ways.
I cant seem to play this unless I do it live....
That is something new to me...
Used to be the other way around....
This is called "Do or die"...
Do or Die

Do or die, that’s what Everyone here is…
How do you do your recording? Do you have separate mics for the vocals and guitar? I'd love to know since it sounds so good (I'm always looking for good ideas in an effort to make my music sound better).

Just a fantastic use of "ours is not to reason why." Great guitarwork and chord progression as always... If you don't come away from this song thinking hard, then there must be something wrong with you.

Just fantastic. So many powerful verses and every one is so meaningful and necessary. Whereas I find it hard to fill out "that dreaded third verse," it seems to me that meaningful words just pour out of Tharek effortlessly as he plays. I wish there were a way to "double favorite" a song when it's this good.
Comments on Keith Landry's stuff
Beautiful song all the way around.
Great song and collab. All but one of my dogs are rescue dogs, good man! I really dig your voice, Keith.
I finally have some time to do some Alonetone listening. Glad I didn't miss this one.
Yes, I agree with the others. Very nice!
yes, great lyrics. I agree with Richard, this would have a good feel as a live performance.
What a great collaboration! Just a beautiful song.
nice sweet song Keith!
Gorgeous song Keith!
Awesome back story - you cannot hide your romantic side, and I'm glad you don't try. :-) Lovely song, Keith. Very sweet.
What an interesting story, I wonder if the lady in question would recognise herself now. And a great song too.

One, two, three, four, yeah .... I love it when you guys do that! Oh yes, this is a great track. Kavin's spot on too!
All right... So I closed the album with the fun songs (note to self... next time START the album with the fun songs).

You and Kavin nail this one! Thanks for the comments!
I like this song a lot. Love the concept, your vocals, etc etc. And I'm green with envy that I didn't think of it! Well done. ER
How can I not fave a song about pick-up trucks, kids climbing on the dog, and leaving Memphis. And with slide guitar to boot.
great song,, and really great collab
Ah, I thought you wrote it for your daughters. :-( Still gorgeous though!

Holy crap, great opening guitar! Damn, just great stuff, T! Thanks for sharing this great music!
Man, I can tell the time, energy, love, and pain you put into this album... A truly a magnificent compilation of music.
Great track... I love the accent that comes through on this one. Man does this one ring true, my kind of folk music, my friend.
Great haunting sound to this one, my friend. Osckilo night was definitely a good idea!
Great track... Fantastic live performance! Wow... just wow.
So nice to listen to this one again... One of the good ones that I didn't miss a while back!

Very heavy stuff, man. What a departure from the rest of this playlist. Quite ass-kickin',
Faved at 0:15. Not to worry, my friend, this is not "preachy" at all... Just a genuine song representing a part of who you are.
