Thrown in the Ocean
One of my favorites from this year’s album, probably because I didn’t have to write the back story.
Little sis wrote a novel called “The Wishmaker” set on an island off the coast of Maine. I’m betting y’all’ll be seeing it on shelves soon enough.
THROWN IN THE OCEAN
Thrown in the ocean
Can’t tell up from down
It all moves in slow motion
When you drown
Thrown in the ocean
Lost in the sand
You have no notion
If you’ll ever land
Make a wish
And hope you find your feet
Make it quick
The water’s getting deep
Thrown in the ocean
Losing all sight
Just trust your emotion
It’ll turn you ‘round right
Thrown in the ocean
Rising up toward the sky
The third law of motion
The sea’ll push back the harder you try
Make a wish and hope you find your feet
Make it quick, the water’s getting deep
You can wade in streams
Or in lakes up to your britches
Rivers hold dreams
But oceans grant wishes
Make a wish and hope you find your feet
Make it quick, the water’s getting deep
