Everything is Fragile
Keith Landry
A lifetime of laughter when you were just kids
And all that came after the silly things you both did
Those times are long, long gone like they ran off and hid
Then the world got bigger with other places to play
And getting so caught up in your own day-to-day
It’s not like you meant to, but you drifted away
You can break the strongest bond if you don’t stay connected
‘Cuz everything is fragile once it’s been neglected
When you first told her you loved her, she smiled and told you the same
A love so sweet and pure, neither one playing games
Then you got too familiar, no one really to blame
Now you sit across the room where you can’t feel her heart
You don’t take care of the little things like you did at the start
You might still be together, but you’ve drifted apart
You can lose the truest love if you don’t protect it
‘Cuz everything is fragile once it’s been neglected
You never know if the next time I see you
Will be the last time I see you unless we make sure
I won’t lose you if you don’t let me lose you
We’ve had the best of times and the worst of times, let’s have more
When it’s all ending, who will you turn to
For one final story before you’re set free
Will there be no one to share in your glory
When you cross over, who will you see
You could find yourself alone if you don’t correct it
‘Cuz everything is fragile once it’s been neglected
