I'm Fighting Time (with Andy, Brian, and MTC)
Keith Landry
Andy Samford kicking ass on guitar, Brian Martin on bass, and Jim Garn (MTC) on drums… A song that was assembled bass-ackwards.
I’M FIGHTING TIME
Sitting in the movies back in 1985
The first long weekend in July
With Doc and Einstein teaching Michael J. McFly
I started thinking how time flies
Walking home, I knew that I’d be taking up the fight
Staring at that northern sky
Lost in the darkness of that starry summer night
I started wondering why
Every kid I know likes futuristic fiction
And every dad I know makes Superbowl predictions
We’re in fast-forward while we’re flashing to the past
To high school days we knew would never last
I wish my car would run on lightning, I’m
Fighting time
Every day I keep on searching for the truth
Of how time flies, I can’t be sure
I’m always trying to find a way to get back to my youth
That might be why I’m so damn immature
But still my mind’s on what’s coming up tomorrow
And every day I’ll have to try
To think about the days I’ll surely have to borrow
It has me wondering why
Every kid I know likes futuristic fiction
And every dad I know makes Superbowl predictions
We’re in fast-forward while we’re flashing to the past
To childhood days we knew would never last
I wish my car would run on lightning, I’m
Fighting time
And thinking ‘bout the days my days are through
Don’t tell me that you haven’t done it, too
Every kid I know likes futuristic fiction
And every dad I know makes Superbowl predictions
We’re in fast-forward while we’re flashing to the past
To high school days we knew would never last
One step behind the enemy I’m fighting
Worried ‘bout the trouble I’m inviting
I wish my car would run on lightning, I’m
Fighting time
Just a great vibe, and comes at a perfect time in the course of this album -- a neat little "surprise play" if you will....
