Bright Nights

A coop between me and another alonetoner and a Chill productions member, Captain Kirk. Original melodic idea and lyrics by me, guitar, piano, final mix, final composition and mastering by Kirk and the beautiful singing is done by his wife.

The poem is inspired by living in Reykjavík in the summer, when the days never end and the sun hardly sets at all!

Bright nights oh how far I can see,
clouds gather to the west.
The moon and the sun way above the sea,
glittering midnight that gives no rest.

On the beach I stand and I look over my shoulder,
and see the people,
of the city where I live.

Everything so bright,
more lively than winters colder,
and romance hangs in the air,
like the sun that nevers sets.

This is my horizon of being,
the very point of existance.
As nature embraces the life of the city,
in a twilight so stark,
and laughter echoes from the pubs and cafés,
I watch and I enjoy,
being alive during those
bright, bright nights.
