One of Asimov's most famous stories, the music attempts to re-create the world that knows nothing but daylight. Unsettling, but bright sounds hint at the looming darkness that must come, ending with the crescending voices of fear and madness…

This entire album is brilliant. Blown away. w;-)

Although Asimov doesn't have a story directly named after the super-computer, it does appear in many of his sci-fi stories, and is related to many of the stories that inspired these compositions. So, it is fitting as it serves a bit of a 'overture…

I really enjoyed this album! Lots of rich textures with a sinister edge to it. Excellent work.

this is a great idea. I did an album based on the novels of Haruki Murakami and one based on "the Talisman" by Stephen King. It's in the grand tradition of musical composers to base one's art on other mediums and works and this is definitely a success!

Haven't read any Asomov since I was a spotty teenager - suddently I feel a yen to re-visit. Great space-scapes (if that's a real expression), Lee. I've really enjoyed listening.

@AMUC Thanks for listening! I have to listen to more Tangerine Dream, I've only heard a couple of late 70s albums...

I'm liking what I've heard of this album so far. It has an early Tangerine Dream sort of vibe to it. You couldn't possibly pick a better subject material to base the songs on.

@Kavin: Thanks! I haven't tackled his novels yet, he's got so many short stories to last quite a while...

Nice ambient and great album. I came to IA through his novels, not so much his short stories. One of the SF masters indeed!
