Lightning Rods
Letter Seventeen
I attended Ronan’s Mountain Recording Retreat this past year and one of the mentors was Michelle Shocked. We had nightly jam sessions with the participants and she would jump into the middle of us and just make everything so much fun. She also gave a couple of presentations and would say all kinds of odd things, because, well, she’s Michelle Shocked. At one point she was all wound up and she said “I’m planting lighting rods and hoping for a storm!”. I wrote it down.
I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
Clouds are rolling in, seven stories high
Thunder rolls two miles away and at least again that wide
Man on the TV says to hide away from harm
But I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
I’m planting lightning rods and hoping for a storm
