My first composition that uses an odd time signature for a few measures. My drum fills are also more elaborate. It's just a little tune to bob your head to, tap your toe, you know, the good stuff!
This song is a tribute to the space monkeys named Albert. They all died tragic deaths of various kinds during their forced service to the American space program.

The berimbau is a brazilian percussion/string instrument that is the foundation for this tune.
Thanks to Dana (Alontoner) who added the sweet backup vocals to make this a much better piece.
And thanks also to K. Scot Sparks (Alonetoner…
Timely sounding. Wonderful. This transports me to a time in history when people enjoyed simpler things in life and we're so caught up in the rat race. Excellent!
Originally this piece was written for a guitar. But I love my R3 so much! I'm playing with it. So this piece is just an electronic version. As always, all sound patches were programmed by me.
We celebrate the passing of a great musical instrument. Hobart M. Cable, the piano lent to us this summer, is going back to his kind owner, Danny. He will be dearly missed.
We hastily wrote this little ditty in his last few hours in our possession…
Yesterday I bought a very lovely sample set from Soniccouture called [The Skiddaw Stones](http://www.soniccouture.com/en/products/p4-the-skiddaw-stones/).

Nice sample set! I love organic sounds like this. Sounds like you're banging away on this stuff in a monastery! In my mind I can hear monks chanting in the background!
Nice bass line! Great off-beat feel. That's pretty sweet. You like dissonant stuff don't you?! Maybe think about making some of the drum parts more offbeat also to match the bass. You know, kind of like Zeppelin. I can hear some double bass drum in there!
I've been working on this one little by little; now I'm at a point where I do not feel like revisiting the feeling. Moves from 3/4 to 4/4, or so I think.. kind of like a 7/4 time sig but not really. typical glu instrumentation, etc.
Everyone…
From Hemisphere, to be released September 2009, via Download and CD, plus pdf art file at GeoffreyArmes.com. 4 track Live recordings edited and overdubbed in home studio.
Using the microKORG, GarageBand drum kits, and a cheap acoustic guitar. Beware, it is far from done. The final version will likely be longer and less repetitive (if possible).
Your getting some nice sounds out of that microKorg. I really like the guitar. It fits well with the rest of the song. It does get a little repetitive but nothing major. Reminds me of video games which I really enjoy!
I just couldn't sit on this anymore! This is a work in progress. I have some ideas for lyrics, but am waiting for time and inspiration to complete it.
Enjoy,
Doug
Great start Doug. I can definitely hear some lyrics over this. I hope that inspiration for them strikes you soon. This is also very nice as is just as an instrumental!
Very peaceful. Sorry to hear about your friend in Hospice. I've had loved ones be taken care of by Hospice before. Music can be very meditative. Thanks for sharing.
Similar in feel to the other Fragile Moment track. Mostly acoustic guitars recorded sitting in my shop on the H4N and then finished up in Cubase just this morning. September 9 09. Maybe a nice one for bedtime
This is has a dark feel to it. I like the subtle voice patches. This is mixed very well. It has a nice full sound to it. Such a beautiful lead guitar tone. Are you recording this direct or what sort of mic set-up do you use? Nice build up. The shakers add a nice touch!
Solo acoustic finger picking thing I've been working on for a while. Sometime around 1968 I started studying with Mr. George Bennett who taught me the rudiments of finger picking. Later when we played some gigs together he also taught me the rudiments…
Really beautiful finger picking. That's one thing I've never really felt comfortable doing. I'm stuck in a rut of playing with a pick but maybe I'll branch out one of these days! Really nice progression. This was the perfect song to wake up to!
The psyche is a weird place, I'll just talk about it musically.
The piece begins with the sounds of Sudara's autoharp, the weeping woodwind sounds of the clarinetist from Megafauna Lacrymosa , and a low kick-like percussive sound, which is…
the first multi track piece that I actually finished "in the box" in Cubase. An ambient kinda thing that grew out of playing around with the Line 6 DL4. Not sure I like the bow parts, but I may re do it later
For doing everything in the box this sounds great! I'm not sure if the metronome fits but that adds to the beauty of it. Really nice guitar work and I like how the song builds!
Happy Sunday Alonetoner's.
I wrote this song yesterday as I had some recent events to ponder.... I hope you like it. Trying for a bit of a bluesy feel. If you'd like to download it and add some background blues bass or guitar, or harmonies…
When I put these last 3 songs on itunes, my computer did something weird. It told me that these songs were already out there on the internet somewhere. So, in order not to infringe on any copyright laws, I would like to assure everyone that NONE…

Pretty groovy. Nice and mellow but has a nice beat to it. Enough variation here to keep me listen through the whole track.

Oh that's killer! Fantastic sounds. They have great depth. Are you using the Korg R3 or some other instrument name 'R3?!'
Whimsical! Nice ode to your borrowed friend! Very original!

Nice instrumentation as always. I like it when the song goes crazy around the 1:10 mark. Is that you playing guitar or something/someone else?
Love the evolving landscape. Great textures. The piano is very Earthy but the other sounds are very alien like. Really nice!
Great voice! Nicely mixed and produced!
Beautiful. Really calm. Peaceful but it has dark underlying tones.

Thanks for posting the song description. Very interesting. Extremely original. Well done, bravo!

Great performance. The mix seemed a little low in volume but it sure has nice fidelity!
Groovy ass song! Reminds me of Beck but has an originality all your own. Nice work!
Great romp! Love the subject matter! This has a nice raw feel to it.
