IN THE END
Gene Eric Mann
Lyrically one of my favorites, and actually one of my fave recordings despite the obvious sound quality issues that plagued my early recordings. I think it’s one of my better-composed Psychedelic Folk tunes.
IN THE END
Had enough of looking out the window
Time has come for walking out the door
Been so long just waiting for the captain
Tired of being anchored to the shore
Had it rough while searching for a ranger
Now I must be blazing my own trail
Spent some time just praying for some guidance
Sick of trusting in a holy grail
Take a chance, go for it and don’t look back
Soon enough all your friends will wear black
Life is short, so damn short it slips away
In the end all you have is today
Had it dry while hugging the embankment
Now I’m cool and swimming in the creek
Tired of being rooted in the valley
Through with simply gazing at the peak
Climb that mountain, swim that river
Hit the floor and dance
Make your music, leave your mark
Go on, take a chance
Seize the moment, brave the weather
Waste no time on strife
Make your memories, leave your mark
Make the most of life
Very catchy my brother. Nice.
