I hear in the Charts
I can draw on the music
I can borrow their arts
I can mimic your work
And then call it my own
There’s no way that I could make this alone
I can call it an influence
Call it a muse
There’s so many parts here
I could use
I can sample your song
And incorporate

Did you hear your bassline in my middle eight?

If I hear your song
And I like what I hear
Then maybe it could be
My next big idea
Of how I could write
A song in that style
I’ve been meaning to write that song for a while
And even this song
That I hold in my hand
Is really a rip-off
Of my favorite band
Their music is kicking
I think they’re great

And Did you hear their bassline in my middle eight?
Did you hear their drum-break in my middle eight?
Saxaphone part, guitar solo, vocal hook…
