this is the first track of my 1st solo album “flying solo” don’t want to swamp the place with all mystuff so will upload them gradually
written on september the 3rd 2010 this is what i said about the song at the time…..

was saddened to hear of chris sievey’s (frank sidebottom) passing. he used to send me encouraging messages via myspace regarding my songs, he particularly liked when i sang about looking up at the stars.

so messing on my juno di i came up with this in dedication to him. whilst working on the song i also found out that an old work colleague willie clark had passed away too, so that influenced the lyric too. hope its not too maudlin but uplifting.

hey look at that big sky
it’s as far as we can see
and will you step up to the plate
and face what’s coming your way
with your head held high
with your head held high

hey look at that big sky
don’t it make you feel small
just remember everyone you’ve touched
and loved
will have a memory of you
when you stepped up to the plate
and faced what came your way
with your head held high
with your head held high
you made a difference
you left your mark
with your head held high

hey look at that big sky
it’s as far as we can see
but i will always rememember
i will always remember

dedicated to chris sievey and willie clark R.I.P.

I wish I could do quiet songs. Can't do it, everyone always ends up loud. It's a skill you obviously have though, Jim, this is just dreamy, I feel like lazy summer is already here...

I like the idea behind this. Effectively uplifting via a low-key approach.
