and she needs a man to keep her and it won’t be me
cos i be working for the man until eternity
i be a slave to the dollar be a slave to the cent
but the chickenshit they give me won’t pay my rent
well the man don’t look as if he wants for much
lillywhite hands never done a day’s work
but he say i’m lazy and i’m filled with greed
and if i work hard i’ll get what i need
well i’ve worked my fingers down to the bone
and he has it all and i got none
and when the work is done and he don’t need me
they tell me i’m burden to society
