Undertow
Undertow
T Boudreau
I heard a speaker of truth teaching our youth and telling all kinds of lies
So i challenged his lessons asked all kinds of questions and slowly he started opening my mind
Now i’m going down to the riverside
Lord wont ya dip me in
Im waiting on a boat load of hope to come by
And wash away my sins
Well to my dismay theres a whole world of grey stuck right there in-between the black and the white
And theres all kinds of scripture in books with real pictures, hidden right there in plain site
Now i’m going down by the riverside
But i’m not jumping in
Waiting on a boat load of hope to float by cuz I can barely swim
On my own
Toss me line and tow me home
I cant swim
On my own
Throw me a line and save me from this undertow
Ya know i was down at the bar ya see, just some old friends n me and we’re all going on how bad things have been for quite some time
From the fussing and the fighting and the hating and the lying it seems everything is so damn hostile
As the old saying goes ‘ya walk a mile in my shoes, and before long your feet are hurting’
It seems the fate of mankind comes down to man being kind, thats all i know for certain
But i’m climbing up this mountain side
And i’m still hanging in
Counting on a head full of hope for my high
Then leave me to the wind
Lord take me down to the riverside
And you can throw me in
And toss me some soap and a bucket of hope
And wash away my sins
On my own
Toss me line and tow me home
I cant swim
On my own
Throw me a line and save me from this undertow
