yeah... buy gold! and silver! I remember those commercials..
all too well... ah the days of good ole TV...
this is a really good recording.. The vocals really work against those great guitar sounds.
a very good mix for this style... seems perfect to me.
Holy sheets this one is cool. That swingy guitar rhythm and awesome vocals all around. It almost felt like a drum was going to roll in the last few seconds and join the fade out... probably just felt that way when a drummer is writing the song. :D Really enjoyed this.
This song was written after I had watched a documentary about Jonestown, which featured music from their choir. They were very talented and I couldn't help wondering if any of them had survived. I'd like to think that there were a couple of 'em…
my life is always better with a song by "The Proods".... I would love to be in a bar watching people while you sing this... especially if the lyrics were up on all the TVs and people were forced to see them...
this is why local recordings cannot be beat by commercial stuff
-We’re Full Blooded USAnaian-
Lyrics…
I come from a place called “ Am-e-RI-ca”
Naw, you don’t come from “ Am-e-RI-ca”

Naw, you don’t come from “ Am-e-RI-ca”
You come from Usa
You come from Usa

We haven't been this excited about a track in a while.
Yeah, we're a little bit angst-y I'm afraid...musically anyway.\A special hello to our Alonetone friends from the grand production days...so glad to see y'all are still making music!
I typed a long comment... and then it changed to the next song and the comment was gone... whoops...
this is legit... I like the music from the era this reps.. I enjoyed seeing your jam room/recording space. Nice mix and I really like that bass at the end... that single note just hits so well.
Okay Man
I thought that I told you
Carrying the weight can be tough
But maybe I was sleeping,
You're a hero wee toro
Gotta plan to handle it all
But maybe you can listen.
Big Man, you don't need nobody else
Amen, you'll just put it…
way cool... I like the 60s feel to this... the drums are so perfect for this style too...
even the way they sound.
the lyrics are old school with a bit more modern flair... back in those days you might get beat up or beat someone up and there was no law suit.. yah just got up and lived on.
nice guitar work and vocals too
Another great tune from good ol' Brian.
Original guitarist Keith is back to sprinkle a little magic on this song, upping the quality to levels that go beyond great...well past my own usual half-assed efforts. It won't be long before they kick…
True story…
It’s sad when the good ones die
enough to make bad ones cry
But everybody seems to be doing their share.
But then again what about you?
Is there nothing you can do…to show a bunch of strangers you really do care.
(Chorus…
Another one for Steve, our amazing bass player….a BIG Planet of the Apes fan.
I never followed Those movies, but he assures me that he’s kept within the bounds of the narrative.

Hi gang.
The Proods are back....Brian at the helm this time.
Our methodology is thus....one of the 4 of us introduce a song, and then we'll bang out a finished track in under an hour with as few over-dubs as possible. This one we put some effort…

It’s nice having our original lead guitarist back for a visit….special thank-you to Keith for his work on Matt’s song.
Lyrics…..
Hey you, little man inside a choo-choo
You do it differently than I do.
Hey man, I hear you’re on a big-plan…
well Reg just wanted to express himself this afternoon so he got to it .....
Freedom to exspress
If I’ve got something to say
Well I’m going to say it
If i got something I want to do
Then I’m gonna do it
I believe…
This song was a favorite of a dear friend we lost a year ago. It felt like a good song to practice the piano. This was the first try -- not that it was good, but it just kept getting worse.
The vocals sound distant because they are... the microphone…
I'm not a stickler for pristine recordings....in fact, there are albums that I insist sound BETTER on old vinyl.
This recording is soulful, raw and terrific. Well done.
I did several quick jams in October, and this was my favorite of the set. I built up the beat on the Deluge and played my favorite xd brass preset live (C# Minor).
Reg decided to go busking down on the subway....
On the subway
Stood on the subway playing my music
As the world rushes by
Lost in a world of my own making
I don’t get washed away in the tide
Its lonely out here where…
Still having fun learning keyboard, and sticking to a determination to never write another sad song. This is just a practice ditty, but it's part of the angry phase of writing which might last a few decades. All of the noise is from the keyboard…
Nice. It's unique, though at the same time it reminds me of the early seventies post-VU New York scene. You're vocal has a Bowie-esque quality that gives the song a bit of gravity.
I'll be here if you decide to make a longer rendition.
(..also, thank you for the kind words on our silly music.)
Comments on The Proods's stuff
that crazy meow ending!

Oh that jangle….sounds like 1967! I love the vibe!
Love the rock spin and vocals! 10/10
Rocking!
Wow! This is powerful. I’m not a fan of the planet of the apes either but maybe I should go back and watch.
Nice! Give 'em hell, Steve ! I get to hang out in Sudbury and Framingham. Keep 'em coming boys!!!
Geez, you guys do quite well working within your self imposed limits. Nice :-)
Sounds like it ended on the cutting room floor after a tense debate about what goes on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath! And I love that album. Nice!
Excellent
Quite possibly tied with The Simpsons "Dr. Zaius" as the best Planet of the Apes inspired song ever!
love it! ...Happy New year

Love this.
Definitely makes me wish I had a better keyboard!
Ooh….very nice. I’ll be back to listen to this.
So good!
Wow….soulful.
I prefer THIS vortex to t'other.
You've had TWO Halloween vortices! I don't have anything more to say about it...just wanted to use the word "vortices".
The places that The mind goes....
Ooh. I love it, a lot of stuff going on when I listen with the headphones on!
Super....it's what I'd expect if the other Beatles ended up visiting the Band at Big Pink!

Indeed! Halloween track….no doubt about it.
@ 2:43 & 2:57…..magic.
Cool…. It sure does diverge from how it starts.
Wow. Very well done.
What is this, a FREAK-OUT????😃
Masterful…as always.
