A Lone Dog In the Night

This song was co-written by my son Tom, who really does “dream of peace…and a million just like (him)”.

Lyrics-
I’m only seventeen
and I play the tambourine
and I’ve tried to love a hateful world
that’s callous, cold and mean….

And when I dream, I dream of PEACE
and a million just like me
and someday I’m gonna be a star!

Picture being me
and your heart would start to bleed
as I cruise every house of blues
for any soul in need

And when I dream, I dream of PEACE
and a million just like me
and someday I’m gonna be a star!
…but my hands are clean
and my mind is keen
and I want to tell the world
about the things I’ve seen

Floating like litter along the highway,
watching as the cars pass out of sight.
I’ve nothing to offer you
except my thoughts and my poor opinions
that bark like a lone dog in the night.

Hope fades from a city
as quiet as a grave.
When it was full of people
I’d ask which ones could I save?

And when I dream, I dream of PEACE
and a million just like me
and someday I’m gonna be a star!
…but my hands are clean
and my mind is keen
and I want to tell the world
about the things I’ve seen

Floating like litter along the highway,
watching as the cars pass out of sight.
I’ve nothing to offer you
except my hopes for a bright tomorrow
that fade like stars at morning light.

I dream of peace and a million just like me... what an awesome lyric. This was a really bright and happy song, even though the world isn't quite there yet! Great song!!

The kind of sunshine I've come to expect from you. Very lovely - uplifting, retro, tight as a drum. Love it!
