This is Not a Plot Device

The seventh song started for this year’s RPM Challenge is the 10th song finished. I now officially have both targets complete. 10 songs and 35 minutes. This year is officially successful. Granted, I still have 10 more songs in the pipeline. Yikes!

Lyrically this isn’t exactly about what it sounds like it’s about but it’s really close. As the world falls to shit you do what you have to do even if there are other things that you have to do that you can’t do… ya know?

It’s not Eminor-Dmajor but it is Aminor-Gmajor so it’s close enough. I thought about putting sound effects in the endlessly long outro but I thought better of it. I also thought about making the guitars at the end super trippy like I’ve done a couple of times already but I thought better of it. This one just plays as it is. That’s good enough for me.

The guitars are all Gibson ES-335 and the amps are all Vox AC15 and Fender Bassbreaker 15… just like literally every song I’m doing this month. The rhythm used a Ryra The Klone. The lead at the end used a crybaby wah and the Ryra. The fuzz leads in the song proper used the Ryra and a Wren and Cuff Super Russian.

Verse 1
you do mean the world to me
there’s no other way to be
I will give up everything that I have
If only to make you see

Chorus
there’s no other way I can see world now
no other way for me
there’s no other way I can picture a life without you

Verse 2
This isn’t a plot device
don’t call it a sacrifice
I gladly give up the whole world for you
I’ll happily pay that price

Chorus
Chorus

Saved!
