Do Your Worst
2024 RPM Challenge idea number nine becomes completed song number four.
I’m hovering between “this is okay” and “this is almost okay.” I don’t hate it. I think it goes to the chorus a few too many times (is that even possible?) and the mix feels sloppy. There are also little timing errors everywhere but especially in the vocals. 7/8 time usually feels pretty natural to me, but this one just feels off somehow.
All of the guitar tracks are a Les Paul Custom through a Fender Bassbreaker 15 and a Vox MV50 Clean, both amps running direct out. Pedals on the rhythm tracks are a Klon KTR into a Keeley D&M Drive. Leads used an MXR Phase 95 into a Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian into the Klon KTR.
Chorus
For what it’s worth
You’ll do your worst
dying of thirst
Still come in first
Verse 1 & 3
Once they give the word
the line will be blurred
You might feel a pain
If you have a brain
Verse 2
We’ve seen better days
They all feel the same
What else can you do
It’s not up to you
Bridge
I know you know
Where else to go
It isn’t so
I moved too slow
