Can't Get Away

2022 RPM Challenge, song number eight out of (hopefully) 20.

I liked this one a lot right off the bat. I even put a note on the trello card that this one might be the winner. I’m not so sure about that anymore, but I do like it. I dig how hyper it is, and I like how the chorus is in 4/4 while the rest of the song is in 7/8. The vocals don’t really live up to the potential, and neither do the lead guitars. I feel like this song deserves a better performance and as a result it’s come down a few pegs for me.

The guitars are all Les Paul Standard through a Bassbreaker 15. The rhythm tracks used a Ryra The Klone into a Keeley D&M Drive. The leads used a Real McCoy Custom RMC10 into a Klon KTR into a Wren and Cuff Super Russian and somehow I feel guilty about that even though the Super Russian has nothing to do with any war crimes and atrocities the Russians are committing today. I just feel gross typing the word.
