The title came to me as I was listening to the track and was reminded of looking through Savage’s telescope at a starry sky and us being completely unable to figure out how to get it aligned :)

The title itself is from a Gregory Benford sci-fi novel I’m rather fond of.

This is the second track made using my latest Reaktor instrument ‘Xylo’. This time it’s using a music-box sample with the speed of each voice being modified over time using an LFO.

If you want to see what Xylo looks like have a gander at the short video I made.

I spent quite a long time tweaking the MIDI score Xylo is playing. It’s basically 3 notes G, A, D spread across several octaves because I liked how they sounded.

This time I added TimeFreezer to a return track and automated it’s pitcher and freeze controls and I’m using PanStation again, one on Xylo and one on TimeFreezer.

PSP VintageWarmer2 and Eos round out the team.

Reaktor is pretty damn cool and this is a fine example.

Ethereal bells and grit! Can't go wrong with that, IMO. Wonderful instrument you've created, Mr. Bags.

Unable to put my finger on precisely why but your recent work is really speaking to me. But why ask why. Bravo.
