I went into the studio to record something I wrote... I came out to find out that 32 students had been gunned down... I already had the mandolin song and melody with a writing direction... and this senseless evil really derailed the whole thing…
There was a director who was so happy to show off his lead singer to the playwrite... she was young and beautiful and a talented singer... when he finally got to present her to the playwrite... the playwrite nodded, and smiled.. he told the director…

almost everything that i write starts on acoustic guitar... I wrote this one as I was driving... so by the time that I got to my studio, i really heard the whole thing finished (both lyrics and the music)... and it was more of a NY bluesy piano…

Finger style folk guitar with vocals... things are not always what they seem
YOU WON’T FIND HIM AMONG
THE PROUD MEN WHO INSIST THAT THEY ARE STRONG
YOU’LL FIND HIM WITH THE MAN
WHO CRIES OUT GOD FORGIVE ME, I AM WRONG
YOU MAY NOT FIND HIM IN…
Imagine that you are that lump of enchanted wood on the workbench.... and instead of Pinocchio you can be anything... maybe even a stratavarious... thanx to my friend Dave Edwards for the real violin trax

Each and every time I hear a tune of yours I get blown away how commercial radio friendly your music is. YOU are one of the FEW who can make song after song. And make up there like a James Taylor or a Sting hit record. Only using them as an example because I know you certainly have your own sounds and all the ones I've heard you do has a definite Scott Carmichael sound. All the way through!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are one of the best pop-folk singers on the internet and that means in the realm of the established stars. Just can't rave about your music enough!

A talented singer, guitarist, songwriter, and excellent lyricist... I'm quite impressed with what life has molded you into! Great song, great lyrics, excellent build, and always sweet to hear real violins!

Hey Robert...
thanx man... you've got some Neil Young running through your veins... wouldn't be surprised to learn that you've payed some attention to him.... I love your relaxed conversational delivery... it's like bein' home by the fire... excellent delivery...
Scott
I do three things after waking up these days: I shower. I make coffee. I play this song and drink my coffee.
Nothing complicated. Nothing fancy. Just some basic fingerpicking to test my motor skills and bring some aural sunshine into my day.
i started writing this song 5 years ago and finally recorded it this year. sad to say, but my $$ situation isn't that much different. this is a whiny song from a liberal-arts grad who is a brat and can't really make ends meet in NYC.
i definitely…

While living in Seattle I knew a guy named Larry. Larry was one of the "pretty" people of the world and had most women drooling over him. He met and married Denise... Also one of the "pretty" people of the world. But Denise could not seem to…
This is the basic theme for "weekend in new orleans", a documentary we're currently writing the soundtrack for (it'll be adapted with variations throughout the film). It's very quiet. (Video trailer coming shortly.)
Hey Mark... an excurtion into Alonetone... huh... sounds great... who did the back vox on this... are you doing any falsetto here or should I recognise some voices...
nice vocals yourself...
see ya back back at the campus
This is a song I wrote with Lisa Purdy (who sings the harmony vocal) about the experience of depression. Jim Bouchard plays lap steel - I'm playing/singing the rest.
Ah Yes... the consummate pro from down under... hello friend... great production as usual... your personal thumbprint... doesn't hurt to enlist Lisa's talents either....
Comments on Scott Carmichael's stuff

OH WOW! OH WOW! OH WOW!
Oh My Scott...Your music is WONDERFUL!
Heh. This is clever. You could probably put a horror twist on it - any tree turned into an instrument would have to be cut into pieces first. =)
Got so caught up hearing your music that I forgot to leave my name on the last comment :) Bill "thetiler"
