made the following observations:

ideology is a concave mirror;
there’s no such thing as a clerical error;
only sidney poitier ever comes to dinner;

big brother can’t be bothered
to watch you all the time;
he says he’s sorry,
but you’ll just have to watch yourselves.
big brother sells you watches;
you bind them round your wrists
like handcuffs, synchronised
with big brother’s factory clock.

i’m gonna keep myself prisoner
in the factory clocktower;
i wanna be part of a five-year plan;
i’m gonna join the watch-chain gang.
