A little bit of pop with a strong 80s touch (I hope).

We just finished another of Alberto's compositions.
Working with Alberto has made me listen a lot to Lucio Battisti and Lucio Dalla recently. This is exactly the vintage sound of Italo rock that I love.
I hope you like it - I do…
This song was written on guitar by Kari Eskola from Finland. He sent me his guitar track along with this fantastic vocal recording by Emmi Inkeri asking me to replace the guitar with a piano accompaniment.

You asked me who Jack Hardy was...He was a friend of mine, now gone. Beloved by many. This was a bit of teasing him, imitating how he sang. He and I shared a mutual respect. The first time I met him I was sitting under an awning at the Kerrville Folk Festival and he pulled up a chair and said, "Sing me a song." We were buddies from then on. The day he would arrive at Kerrville was always joyfully anticipated, not just because he made such great spigot. This song is a spin-off from "Hold On". Tez found the original music and wanted to use it for his own lyric, so we assembled a new band, and Gabro replaced my original piano track (while still using the original harmonies).

I like the other songs of yours (those I've listened to so far) a little better, but this one sure is a very good song too. Nice listen. :)
Regards,
Steffen
Great job! Please tell us a little bit about your songs. Who does what (singer/instruments/composition/production), and maybe what the story behind them is, if there is one.
Reg was reading the paper today about the Spandex vigilante. Now Reg has got himself sorted becoming a superhero appeals to him. Ummmm about the suit i think it should be Blue to match my eyes with a large TTR motif of some sort on the chest in…
A little fun riff that came from noodling on my Epi whilst watching the idiot box one night. It's kind of written for a friend who is a little lost in a self-imposed exile from life.
One of my first favorite songs...I had this idea floating around for years, even tried it with the band in late 98-99. This 2001 recording comes closest to capturing what I hear in my head.
This one seems to have a lot more dynamic range than the other ones. Suits me better as I'm not usually a "loud guy" ... Great 60s/70s touch again. Just the way I like it! :)
I was thinking about Haiti...
i don't know what to say
i don't know how to feel
when i'm way over here
and things are going well
my house is standing still
my friends are still alive
the smell of spring is in the air
and i just can't connect…
Written for a friend of mine.
be and i will be with you
you are a light house in this storm
you will overcome
you will overcome this storm
don't fear the wall for you will climb upon it.
you will see from higher ground
and the sun…
New one from me. It's ended up as a bit of a "crying into yer beer at Bob's Country Bunker" sort of song lol...
I've been sat on these lyrics in some form or another for absolutely years. I first wrote them one very dark night a few years after…
Your best song so far - IMO. And all the others were great too. But this one has that wonderful blues-gospel feel that grips you from the very first note.
I'll listen to this song a lot more times, no doubt about that.

Hi, James! A very long time, indeed. I have not been here for years. Less and less time ... How have you been? Still busy writing new songs?
Hey, it seems like years. Just want to say hi.
What a killer track. Got my head between my Toby speakers and it's like I'm inside the music. tobyspeakers.com
The band sounds great! tasty track.
Very nice. Good production. Kind of a 70's Bond theme vibe.

What an interesting combining of such desperate genres...
Love what happens @ 1:17.
You really capture late 60s here. Especially the keys...
ROCK & ROLL!!! Sooo clean!
Sparce and beautiful.
Some beautiful "awkward tinkering..."
Great track...and, you know it's true.

Great song, my friend! I think this is my favorite one of yours.
You won't make me a country fan, but I sure enjoyed all your songs. Great vocals, btw! :) Regards, Steffen

Another solid country-rock tune. Your songs should all be played on country radio.
You are definitely a master of your trade. This song has a nice, foot-tapping rhythm. Regards, Steffen
Very nice country-rock. Country the way I like it - and that excludes a lot of country songs. :) Regards, Steffen

Sounds more like 1982 to be. ;) :P Either way it sounds superb. You have achieve a level of professionalism that most of us will never achieve.
All your songs are wonderful because of that great, great voice.
This is really lovely. Downloaded! :)
I'll have to listen to all your other songs later. Sound really great.
Great music with a wonderfully authentic 70s vibe to it!

I knew you are a great songwriter, Errol. With these tracks you uploaded you prove it again.
I'm not a country fan, Errol, but you might be able to convert me. :) Sounds great all around.
