THE TABLE by Jeff Prince

Funny, running into you this way after all these years
You hardly aged a single day except those lines around your eyes when you smile. She laughs as she recalls the girl that she was and the boy who chased her around. Memories outshine the here-and-now, still, they kiss as the sun goes down.

Cast down your eyes. Turn out the lights
Darkness is your friend. Margarette and Earl, scarred in this world chase after rainbows again

Her grasndfater made the table out of Mesquite burrough
and hickory dowels. Not a nail or a screw one.
Abilone inlay. White mother of pearl yellowed by the sun.
It’s graced her back patio for twenty odd years because
grandpas always die. She fusses with her napkin, she plays with her fork, she smiles then she cries.

Kitchen a flutter. Sweet rolls and butter
Potatos from the bin. The sun warms the table,
the food, and the fable. Welcome rainbows again.

Amazing, very vivid narrative. And the music could not complement it any better.

It's really difficult to talk on a track, I have done it once. This is very well done.
