I heard someone say to an undergraduate class, ‘you’re on your way to everywhere’ and I loved that line. This is sort of a Beatle-esque tune. My friend Mike Levine stopped by while recording a showed me a new jig on the mandolin. I recorded it and played it backwards. So that’s what the backdrop is to this tune - its a repeated mandolin Irish jig (about 20 seconds long) looped throughout the song. At the end, there is backwards lap steel that gives it the highway sound of travelling…

Very clever musical bed for this - samples played backwards, right? Either way, the overall effect has that lovely carefree outdoors feel. Really enjoyed this track.
