Running Horses

An RPM 2009 song. Well, this was a personal story for me that came about when your past intersects (briefly) with the present.

Lyrics:

20 years running through time and I remember
all the magic lines
that in our younger days
we drew them with fingers in the sand

You went south past Mexico
I went the other way to the rain and snow
Sometimes we choose our own paths to take
On other days its not ours to make

Running in the river of dreams tonite
the golden light of summer is still shining bright
shining in your eyes deeper than the seas
your wild horses will always run free

Whispering stars are watching as we travel
over hills and under waterfalls
in the light of a summer moon
the music was our roadmap
we thought we had it all

Was it all a picture of sometime long ago
or does it live in a place that we don’t know
reflections of ourselves that we can’t really see
running with the horses wild and free
