This is as real as it gets. Thats a song. I really like your sounds guys. Comparing my sound to The Band, and my electric guitar playing to Neil Young, well thats about as high a compliment as there is in my books, so thank you, two of my biggest heros there for sure. So a big thanks from Atlantic Canada (Saint John, NB) back at you.
Woody's first adventure in didgeridoo recording. Features bass through a keyboard and a tsamiko rhythm drum loop. Tsamiko is a popular traditional dance of Greece. The rhythm seemed to suit the didgeridoo quite well and inspired this piece.
Great version of Powderfinger, Dave and Ferryman! The Wetband love to do this one together. Terrific guitar solo and the harmonica really adds a great feel, as do the vocal harmonies at the end. The cornfield instead of the river is an interesting variation. Neil would love it!
Reg is trying to find escape from all the bad news surrounding him, his age, his life, the world as a whole, He needs to escape he can not do anything to help the suffering people of the world apart from maybe send money, he can't change this…
Great track, Reg. Gotta get Kenny (Guns and Laughter) over here to hear this one! The organ is the perfect accompaniment, with its carnival and church overtones. The Carnival Barker is terrific.
Guitars: Alina Yudaeva
Composed, arranged & mixed by Steffen Offermann
This never turned out like I wanted it to be because I could not find a real drummer and bassist for it. But at least Alina was kind enough to play the lead guitar…
This new one was written by Willie and features him on guitar and vocals plus once again we are pleased to have Rinyville supply harmony vocals. We welcome your feedback as usual.
NEW VERSION (25 Jan 2011) Just me getting ready for RPM 2011. Of course this song will not appear on my RPM album. Version 1 was extremely rough, this one much less so. I don't cringe as much when I listen to this version! The lyrics were jotted…
"just a cog in the wheel of perpetual gloom" Don't that say it all! One of those songs it's going to be hard to get out of my head. Gonna pop back in with my morning coffee, guaranteed!
Dundas and Yonge! Know it well. Not as good as it used to be when Sam's Record Store was there. Now they have a big cold cement square with lots of neon. We love the east coast. Two of our band members, Jethro and Willie hail originally from Newfoundland.
New Year's Greetings from the Wetband, Dave!
This is one great song with lots of terrific guitar breaks. To our ears, it has a bit of The Band flavor, especially the great harmonies, and they are one of our favorite bands. The lead guitar ranks up there with Neil Young.
Season's Greetings from the Wetband! Love the name: Autumn in the Oak Tree. This is a terrific song. Like the way it builds. The instrumental break is excellent.
