Summer In The Wind
Kris King
Summer In The Wind was written by me and recorded by the Ninja Broilers (myself and my sister). It is dedicated to our mum. A song of sad goodbyes and new beginnings.
This is one of our first “international collaborations” - so the production is not great, but we meant well……
Lyrics:
This year the winter was a witch
I watched a woman slipping out of reach
we laid a place at table on Christmas day
but she cried and she wouldn’t come away
But summer’s in the wind and its warm walking
I saved myself a bluebell, only one
My God the woods are wonderful the ground is hazy blue
and just around the corner there’s a hot fat golden shiny sun
winter times are easier alone
my heart my soul my hiding place my home
and nowhere looked like anywhere that I would want to go
and anyway my cold bones hurt me so
But summer’s in the wind and its warm walking
I saved myself a bluebell, only one
My God the woods are wonderful the ground is hazy blue
and just around the corner there’s a hot fat golden shiny sun
Let pain and sorrow pass into the past
Winter is a season, doesn’t last
the lady will be leaving, Godspeed and let her go
and walk among the flowers as they grow
But summer’s in the wind and its warm walking
I saved myself a bluebell, only one
My God the woods are wonderful the ground is hazy blue
and just around the corner there’s a hot fat golden shiny sun
Terrific song. Very distinctively Kris King!! Deserves to be heard by a lot of people doesn't it.
