Song-writing Demo for FAWM 2025

This was quite a quick write.
I was watching a film.
Someone said “No matter what the odds”.
So I thought: what about a song called No Matter, exploring the What, Where, When, and Why of I love you. I wrote the lyrics out in 2 minutes during the film. I thought I’d fight to turn them into a song the next day. But no, it wasn’t too difficult, did it that evening.
The demo, now that was a lot harder to do. Of the four songs so far, this is the one whose demo I like the least.
All these FAWM demos of mine are one-take live recordings with one mic, no click, no overdubs/corrections. So far, this is the one least well served by that approach. I can hear arrangements on all of them, but this one needs more, is tough to keep going on your own, and would benefit from some studio trickery.
And it wasn’t helped by this being the third demo I’ve recorded today… so it’s roughly the 30th lead vocal in a few hours.
It’ll do for a song demo for the moment, though. Gotta finish writing the next one now… and finish this bucket of Gin my wife has given me!!

Love this one too! I hear a big production anthem style someday. An arena full of people singing this at the top of their lungs! Fantastic! What a fun morning for me to listen to so much of your great music!
