when you wake up
and it feels like its further away
you get discouraged
could it have really gone unnoticed

what you’re tryin to find
isn’t so black or so white
it’s more rooted in faith and less in fate
what you’re tryin to find
isn’t so gift-wrapped, so signed
its less earned and more so graced

on the panama city canal
cryin on the steps of a trailer down south
countin the change under flourescants mid-town
wakin up discouraged with no one around

when you look up
and the clock its just tickin away
you get discouraged
can it really go unnoticed
