i swear i'm not trying to spam your comments. your voice is absolutely awesome in this song, and the story-telling lyrical style is great, but what really sets it apart from your other songs is the unexpected snare and low tom hits.

do you record this in your home? these have a bakersfield country tone...that pristine buck owens sound. i think they're all extremely well put together, so whoever is doing your production really knows how to arrange country music.
i normally hate 'country' music, but not because it's country...i had a stepdad who spent a lot of time recording, and i saw firsthand just how contrived most of the so-called artists are. this song uses a lot of country conventions...but it never sounds contrived. maybe it's because your voice sounds classically country enough to make the songs seem natural.
whatever the case is, i could spend a lot of time analyzing why i like this stuff.
