Eno Gets The Blues
Well now, this is actually a very old track, made back in March ’09 and not that long after I started learning piano.
I was learning a very simple 12-bar blues piece and getting bored with the piano sound I started messing about with the Logic piano presets until I hit on an ‘ambient piano’ sound.
I remember saying to MMI that “this sounds like Brian Eno playing blues” and he told me to run with it.
In the end I replaced the ambient piano with a beautiful lap steel patch from Omnisphere but it’s me playing a blues piece. MMI was then kind enough to add some guitar and I created a drone to glue it together.
It then sat for about 6 months while I wondered, idly, what to do with it. Listening to it tonight, for the first time in a long while, I wondered why I thought I wanted to do anything with it at all. I think it’s great as it is.
Hope you enjoy!
Please also send your thanks @MMI’s way.
This is sensational! Permission to download, loop and warble on?
This gives me the chills. You should be doing this for money.
ugh, great take on a progression tirelessly used. way to revitalize and reinvent, seriously.
soft, slow, ambient blues... the best kind. tasty guitar work from MMI as well, fits perfectly.
