Sorry I missed this one earlier in the month. It's a real beauty. Love the flowy feel to this. Feel like I'm sitting on the back of a car, listening while the ocean is off in the distance...
@doktordoktor - Thanks! I know my voice isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so I appreciate the feedback. Keeps me motivated to keep playing, recording, and singing.
Thanks so much for stopping by to listen and provide encouraging words, @peppermintsky! I feel like you've been listening to my stuff longer than almost everyone here, so I feel honored that you keep coming back to listen.
@castratibrothers: thanks for the feedback. I tend not to notice if my vocals are too low in the mix (unless it's super obvious) so it helps to have a fresh set of ears point such things out. And I'm glad to hear you liked the lyrics -- I encourage you to check out the original version by The Verve Pipe because their version is far superior to mine!
Still learning the keys.
This will be the last cover for some long while. It just seemed like something fun to practice on since everything that appears in my head is usually slow and sad. Now I can practice on something fast and sad!
I…
Yes, I'm back! I actually didn't go anywhere. I just am slower to get things learned and recorded these days. But I'll keep posting songs as I finish them. Thanks for the encouraging words, Mike!
This is another song for my Hyperphantasia album, dealing with dreams, daydreams, fantasies, and imagination. The inspiration was a challenge in the Deluge synth discord group to make a song using a single kit. I compiled a bunch of sounds from…
You are neither scourge nor savior. You are a point on the continuum. What you eat, you are. You are food. And how sacred is that? Little sister to Second Nature.
Vocals, keys, lyrics: Kat
<3Kat
This sacred body
doesn’t she make you…
They say "you are what you eat." I find this to be true because as soon as I bought some ready-to-eat apricots, I was ready to eat apricots. My favourite thing about these ready-to-eat apricots is that they were in a resealable bag, because sometimes you aren't ready-to-eat apricots enough. Maybe next time you'll buy some ready-to-eat apricots.
Took me a "long long time" to discover this song, but I'm so glad I was finally able to thanks to the amazing third episode of "The Last of Us." Thank you for the kind words, Colleen!
I'm so happy to learn that you plan to take a look at the originals, c}{imps! I'm just here trying to honor my favorite songs and it's a true compliment if I can do well enough to make someone want to hear the "real" version. (-:
I had a lot of fun listening to this one. The subtle use of sitar and the chugging rhythm guitar are two cool things (of many) that jump out at me. Nice work, Steve! :)

Enjoyed this but would have liked the vocal up in the mix a bit. Good lyrics

I'm late to the party on this one, but had to comment to say that I think you really did a great job making this song your own -- bravo!
Enjoyed this one!

I like all four of your songs! The layered vocals on this one are particularly cool. :)
A nice "pick me up" in these uncertain times! The bongos and other percussive sounds are nicely juxtaposed with the simulated jet sounds. Cool stuff!
Thanks for the encouraging words, Tess! Authenticity is definitely what I'm going for with these songs.
@SisterSavage: As always, thank you for listening and thank you for your kind words, Tess!
Inspiring!

Thanks, Steve! It was fun trying to make the two guitars work and I'm glad the enjoyment extended beyond just me.
@theproods I'm very glad to hear that you're out there supporting some of the artists who inspired me so much!
Love this one; it’s great seeing you back on alonetone! :)
Glad you enjoyed it, Steve! I had some fun with this one. ;)
