Traveling Alone V2 with Paul Lennon
Update: Paul took the first version and made it even better. So impressed with his talents. Thanks everyone for your kind words on the original. I know you’ll like this version even more!
I was listening to some of Paul Lennon’s great tracks, and asked if I could put some lyrics to one. I chose “Powerline” because I liked the edginess of it. His original track is at this

I wrote these lyrics while on the road recently…. Thanks Paul, and I hope you like it! (and everyone else too)
Here are the lyrics:
Traveling Alone (music by Paul Lennon - Lyrics and Melody, Colleen Dillon)
Traveling alone
Your life hidden from the world
Head down in your mobile phone
Shields you from the outside world
Just inches away
From your protective bubble
A lingering glance inquires
And you wonder is it worth the trouble?
Is it worth the trouble?
Should they be allowed
Inside your perfect world?
Do you want to know their story?
Open up and be brave girl
Open up and be brave girl
Traveling alone
It doesn’t matter where
Traveling alone
It doesn’t matter when
Get outside your inner world
And open up the gates
Something cool will come to you
Something cool will come to you
Something cool will come to you
When you’re open to your fate
WOW! Wonderful!
Nice early 80s touch.. Enjoying stuff like this at the most. Great synth
Ah . . . It's this song that Paul remixed. It has a little more reverb on your voice. It mixes with the music perfectly.
I agree with Greg -- it is indeed like Paul's recording was made for you. The lyrics ROCK! I dig the mix own of multiple vocal tracks -- great job. Gonna play it again right now!
Excellent . . . It's like this music was made for your lyrics. Great lyrics Colleen Nice music Paul!
nice job ...very creative adding lyrics and melody to an existing recording....hmmmm...Lennon and Dillon...has a nice familiar ring!!!!
Nicely done Colleen! Pretty melody and a really resonant situation with different meaning for everyone. Traveling alone is really big idea! Thanks for sharing it.
