Dreams of the Beekeeper
David Marcouillier
I am fascinated by bees. I was thinking about what I might dream about if I were a beekeeper…
Dreams of the Beekeeper:
I’m going back to sleep.
Back to where I keep
the most perfect honeybees.
The honey that they make
is there for me to take.
They make it just for me.
But I don’t waste my time collecting needles and leaves
to smolder in a can of smoke with which to ease the bees
and I don’t wear protective gloves upon my hands
but I don’t worry, they won’t sting me…
No, the bees know who I am,
I’m welcomed as a friend
and we all eat honey.
And the nectar they collect
is the sweetest to inject.
It helps me see.
So I don’t waste my time collecting needles and leaves
to smolder in a can of smoke with which to ease the bees
and I don’t wear protective gloves upon my gentle hands
but I don’t worry, they won’t sting me…
But before the dream is over
someone finds a patch of clover
and they all leave me.
There’s work to be done.
There’s work to be done.
There’s work to be done…

Wow, this song is beautifully eerie. Haunting sound in the layered vocals. Very nice! Is that a woman singing with you? Icy yet pretty.
according to recent findings...bee keepers may be dreaming about the bees they used to have...sseems they are disappearing at alarming rate..I have'nt checked recently..but at the time I read of it..they couldn't figure out why the bees were disappearing.
